Surnames: Gage, Norton, Huebner Classification: Obituary Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/wEC.2ACE/1384 Message Board Post: GAGE: - Caroline Huebner was born in Germany Jan. 15, 1833 and died at the home of her son Harry, April 7, 1914, age 76 years, 2 months and 23 days. When 14 years of age she came with her parents to America and settled on a farm in Waukesha county, Wis. She was married to Sidney R. Gage April 18, 1860 and lived on a farm in the town of Summit, Waukesha county until the summer of 1874 when they removed to the town of Fountain, Juneau county, where they lived until about 15 years ago when they went to their home in the village of Hustler, to spend their remaining years, and where Mr. Gage died about 6 years ago. Mrs. Gage continued to live in Hustler until about three weeks ago when she went to the home of her son where she was cared for until her death. She leaves to mourn her loss, fours sons and one daughter, John of Oakdale; William of LaCrosse; Fred of Superior; Harry of Fountain and Mrs. Alice M. Norton of Hustler, 25 grandchildren and on grandchild, also 3 brothers a! nd one sister, nearly all of whom came to see her a short time before she died. Funeral services were held from Ranney Baptist church in Hustler last Friday, Rev. J.R. Murton officiating. Burial was in the Hustler cemetery beside her husband. Mrs. Gage was a woman beloved by all who knew her and her death has cast a pall of sorrow over the community. The Times-Argus extends sympathy to the bereaved family and relatives.
