J. Kulk of Milwaukee and Frank Root of Beaver Dam, passed away at her home in Mauston, Friday, April 23, 1937 after a short illness, at the age of 69 years. Mrs. Root was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Underburg, pioneer residents of Mauston, and spent her girlhood days in Milwaukee until her marriage to Mr. Root in 1869. Besides her husband and children, Mrs. Root is survived by three brothers, John, Ben and Henry Underburg, and two sisters, Mrs. Kate Marzene and Mrs. E. Robinson, all of Milwaukee. Funeral services were held Monday at 2:00 p.m. at the home, Rev. A. B. Nimz, pastor of the Methodist church, officiating. Burial was in the Mauston cemetery. Joan M.
