She was born Jan. 22, 1909 in Madrid, Iowa, to Henry and Alice (nee Orth) Martinson. She was married in 1931 to Norman V. Meiers, and they celebrated 72 years of marriage. Survivors include her husband, one daughter and one son, four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, a brother-in-law and a niece. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Hulda Starkweather and Carl Martinson. Services were held at Bethany Lutheran Church in Mauston on Thursday July 24, with burial in the Mauston Cemetery.
