Beard, died at her home in this city on the 8th inst. aged 34 yrs. one month and eight days. She had lived in this vicinity nearly all her life, had a very large circle of friends and was beloved by all who knew her. She embraced the religion of the Bible about 15 years ago, joined the church of the United Brethren in Christ, in which she lived a faithful member and consistent christian until death. Her countenance usually had a cheerful expression scattering sunshine throughout the circle in which she moved. Her funeral was one of the largest, if not the largest, ever held in this city. The old, the middle-aged and the children were there, and little distinction was made in nationality. The service was conducte by Rev. D. C. Talbot, and the very appropriate words, "I go to prepare a place for you," was used for his text. He made it a point to show to the grief stricken parents, as well as the husband, and children, and friends, God knows how to fit up a palace, a mansion or a garden, and how to bestud the walls with precous gems or what kinds flowers to pluck from his garden of earth for his Eden above. She leaves two children, a girl of 12 years and a boy about seven, with husband, parents and a large circle of friends to mourn their loss, which we trust is her eternal gain.
