Wow! This post is sure out of the blue and a wonderful surprise this am. Just two days ago I discovered that the KRISKERN 's that I had been looking for in Juneau county were actually KNISKEN or KNISKERN. But they have also been found spelled KRISKERN in some transcriptions. The actual census page could go either way. Stephen's son Walace married my Great Aunt Matilda Van Hoosen / an in 1879 in Juneau County. Their son Harvey was found in 1900 living on the farm with my Great Grandfather Charles Van Hoosan / en in Hancock County, Iowa. The marriage is the last record I have of Walace as the 1880 Census shows Matilda and Harvey living with the Abraham Van Hoosen family on the farm in Juneau County. I don't know what happened to Matilda after 1880. I haven't found any records of her possible remarriage or her death.
