Surnames: FLETCHER, CARY, RIVERS Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/wEC.2ACE/1316 Message Board Post: My husbands family is descended from Oliver Fletcher of NY, and Juneau Co., Lemonweir, Wisconsin. My focus is on Oliver and Emma's eldest son, ABRAM FLETCHER who died at Gettysburg, PA on July 3, 1863 from wounds. He was a member of the 6th Wisconsin Infantry, Co. K, a regiment of the Iron Brigade. We have several Civil War letters from Abram's brothers Charles and Oliver to their younger sister, Emma, (my husband's gg-grandmother) in which Abram is mentioned. It seems as though Abram was the only married brother and that is why Emma didn't have letters from him as it was noted in one letter from Charles (his brother) that Abram wrote to his wife Sarah (Cary) Fletcher. Here's my dilemma. Oliver and Emma's family is mentioned in the 1860 Lemonweir census except for Abram, who was off and married by that time. I am trying to figure out where Abram lived with his wife Sara. ALso... Abram had two children with Sarah, a boy, Ira and a girl Eliza. After Abram was killed in the war (as all three brothers died in the war unfortunately) Sarah remarried a DAVID RIVERS in 1866 and eventually moved to MN, where she died on Nov 24, 1909 in Maywood twp, Benton Co, MN. Abram and Sarah's son:. Ira4 Fletcher, b. Aug 08, 1858; d. Mankato, Blue Earth Co, MN. their daughter:. Eliza A Fletcher, b. Dec 13, 1861, WI; d. Mankato, Blue Earth Co, MN I would like to know if anyone can lead me to Abram's descendants for several reasons..... I would like to find out if there are letters that were saved by Sarah and handed down to her children, grandchildren, and I would like to know if anyone in that family is aware of their Civil War history. I have a picture of Abram's grave marker in the National Cemetery at Gettysburg where my family vacationed just a few weeks ago. I would like to share this with any Fletcher family member who may be interested. I also have scanned our Civil War letters from Charles and Oliver (Abram's brothers) to their sister Emma if anyone would like me to email these to them I'd be happy to. Thanks, Joyce

JCGS Book 1 - St Pauls Evangelical Lutheran Church CHARLESTON, Mrs - Hare Funeral Marker - pg 14 - There is a note that there is no record of who is buried in any of the graves, so Hare Funeral Home donated markers until the stones could be erected. I am not related to nor have any additional information on these surnames. R/S MAK +++ I see from the Juneau Cemetery Index that you will check out surnames noted in the cemetery Indexes. I am looking for info on the location of the grave of" Mrs. CHARLESON" in the St. Paul's Evangelical Church Cemetery in New Miner. I've seen references to the JCGS Book 1 p. 14., but I would like the exact location, and any additional information shown if possible. I am sending flowers up there for Memorial Day, and if you have the info at your fingertips, I would be really grateful if you could let me know right away, so the florist can find the grave. I know it's asking a lot, but any help would be appreciated. Also, I see a Carlson in the Greenwood Cemetery Index, and would appreciate all information on that grave. It's one of a whole group of alternate spellings I've seen ( including Charlson, Carlsen, Kelsen, Kelson, Kjelson, Kalson) for identified family members. My grandparent Charlesons came from Norway in 1871-73 and lived in Necedah/ Strong's Prairie area for several generations at least. My grandmother is Jennie Charleson , married to James Drummond of Necedah. She is the daughter of Emma and Peter Charleson and my mother is Doris Drummond Kramer . I'm picking up on my family research, and a lot of information has led me to the premise that it is my great grandmother, Emma Charleson, born in Norway, ca. 1848, buried in the grave in St. Paul's Cemetery. I was up in Necedah several years back and visited the cemetery and spoke with a number of wonderful people who gave me a lot of information, but I don't have the location I need for the moment. Taylor, Owner of Spring Brook Farm Killed Monday Night - One of Our Best Known Farmers. S. G. Taylor, proprietor of Spring Brook farm and owner of the Spring Brook Herd of cattle was gored to death by a bull Monday afternoon as he was leading the animal to water. Mr. Taylor was born in Hartford, Michigan, May 8, 1850 and came to Wisconsin about 27 years ago, settling in the town of Lindina. He was one of Juneau County's most progressive farmers and his great pride was in his fine herd of cattle, which was one of the best in a county where fine stock predominates. He was a man of exceptionally fine qualities, broad minded and just in his dealings with all; a good neighbor and a sincere friend. His death is a distinct loss to the community in which he has so long lived. He leaves a wife and eight children to mourn the loss of a kind husband and loving father. The funeral will be held today at 2:00 o'clock at the home, Rev. S. B. Penney of the Presbyterian church of Neillsville, will conduct the services and interment will be in the Mauston cemetery. Juneau Co. Chronicle, Thursday, 13 Sep 1917
