What you may want to consider is posting a message to the Dane County, Wisconsin message board. That is where the Historical Library is located and you may find a volunteer willing to pop over there and take a peek at that marriage record for Carr/Phillips. Even though it's from 1857 the parents names could be listed and a place of birth. Probably won't be much else. You could even try and see if they could find the obit for Norris in the Elroy Tribune, using the date of his death. If you don't get a response in several weeks, I will be at the Historical Library sometime before the end of October, 2004. Carolyn p.s most pre-1907 vitals are on microfilm and can be printed out at the Historical Library for 25 cents. Same for an obit if found.

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/wEC.2ACE/1389.1.1 Message Board Post: Thanks Carolyn, for the info of Martha (Carr) Phillips. The pre-1907 marriage index listing a Martha D. Carr marriage to a Horace Phillips on 15 Nov. 1857 in Juneau County, WI., is a little confusing! Norris Phillips middle initial was N., as shown on the 1870 & 1880 census in Plymouth Township, Juneau Co., so the name Horace, must be an error?? The 1860 census for Township of Plymouth, Juneau Co., lists Norris Phillips with wife Deborah, (Martha's middle name) and Laura, age 1. The 1870 & 1880 census's then list her name as Martha D. Phillips. The obit of her father, Daniel Carr, was very helpful in learning more of the Carr's. Hoping to find an obit of Norris N. Phillips and Martha D. Phillips that may reveal more data. Have sent for a marriage record of Laura A. Phillips, who married in 1881, to learn her married name. I do not have access to all on line data and appreciate your help. Thanks again! Julia

The 1860 census for Plymouth town, Juneau County, Wisconsin has Norris Phillips and family residing with the Daniel Carr family. There is a marriage listed in the pre-1907 index of a Martha D. Carr to Horace Phillips on 15 Nov. 1857 in Juneau County, Wisconsin.(V. 01-0023) The 1900 and 1910 census has Martha Phillips residing in the city of Elroy. Juneau County with her sister Angeline Carr. Martha is a widow and the correct age to be your Martha Phillips. Also an obit was published to this message board for a Daniel Carr, who could be the father of Martha Phillips on 27 Aug. 2004. 1900 census: Wisconsin, Juneau County, Elroy city, Sheet # 9A or ancestry image #17. 1910 census: Wisconsin, Juneau County, Elroy city, Sheet # 9A, ancestry image #17.

Do you have any information on them. Emelia is my greatgreatgreat grandmother. I have posted a note Mary on "Herman Karl Fredrich Bloedow/Bladow". Who is the August that you have listed? Do you know if the sister's or the rest of the family came to America at the same time? If so where did they start out--any clues? I have the Census image that I can e-mail you from 1920 with Emelia on it. It states that she came around 1889? She was naturalized 1900? You'll have to see the image to decide the dates. ( I had a horrid computer crash and lost almost 2 years of genealogy material that was not backed up. In some ways I am starting from ground zero again.) I have learned since then. I am so glad to let you know... I just got my hands on Hankinson, North Dakota's Centennial History Book--dated June 26-29th 1986! I have been haveing so much fun looking thru it. I'd be happy to mail off to you items that pertain to our family. I'll need you to e-mail your address to me again. Herman and Emelia (Leist---aka--I have found in the Hank. book she is also listed as Leish, Fust?!!?) are from the Pomerina Province, Germany. (Perhaps a place called Rosenow--It seems all the other Bladow's in the Hankinson Cent. Book are from this area. This might help researchers further. They all seem to have come around 1870/1871--I wonder what was happening at that time! Anyone have any clues?) My question is this---a relation called Aunt Elaine and mentioned they thought that...Herman Karl Friedrich Bloedow/Bladow's--- father---was named William. Do you know if this is true-or-have information supporting this? If this is a true lead---I have found information connecting a William Bladow (who immigrated in 1870-ish with his wife and five children)...they are... Herman, Charles, Anna, Amelia and George. This is all the information I have for now. Are these people related to us? *** see note below I also found a William Bladow in the 1930 Census living back in Janesville Wisc. He was Born around 1856 is 74 at the time of the Census--states he was born in and immigrated from Pomerina Province, Germany and came to the USA in 1871, was 25 years of age at his first marriage. (He would have been married around 1851 and would have been having children around 1852ish) In this census I find him living with his 2 daughter's--I think--Ester age 15, born around 1915 and Evelyn age 19, born around 1911. They are living on William's Daughter's farm she is Anna, age 40, and her husband William Ballenlive? Cannot read his last name clearly. I have included the information here so you can look it up on line at Ancestry.com --(William Bladow, Year: 1930; Census Place: Janesville, Rock, Wisconsin; Roll: 2610; Page:  ; Enumeration District: 24; Image: 85.0) ***note Information gleaned form Edwin and Ida (Falk/Foeltz) Bladow Family pp213-214 and George and August (Roeder) Bladow Family pp215-217 That's all for now.
