D. Macomber, son of the late H. E. Macomber of this city, was born March 8, 1859, and died of consumption at the home of his sister Mrs. R. F. Champney in the town of Lisbon, this county, on the morning of Oct 16, 1900. Will attended the public schools of this city, afterwards entering the bank of his father as cashier, which position he held until said institution failed. He then went to Chicago which city has been his residence until a few weeks ago when his sister above named had him brought to her home that she might give him kindly attention and nursing until the end came. On Aug. 30, 1882 Mr. Macomber was wedded to Miss Bertie Farnsworth, a very estimable young lady, then a resident of Wadam's Mills, NY. Five years ago she died leaving three sons, the fruit of said marriage, all of whom live to also mourn the loss of their father. Deceased leaves a sister, Mrs. R. F. Champney, a brother, Bert Macomber and a half brother, Floyd Macomber, son of Mrs. H. E. Macomb! er of this city. The funeral will take place at the home of R. F. Champney tomorrow at two o’clock p.m., and will be presided over by Rev. W. B. Stubbert of the Baptist church.

Deceased was 71 years of age. Farming has always been his occupation with the exception of a few years when he was engaged in the banking business, a venture which resulted in disaster and made him a comparatively poor man. It is but fair to state that the public never charged him with being the cause of the bank's failure. His large fortune was swept away with the rest. Mr. Macomber was a leading member of the Baptist church and was possessed of many kind and generous impulses. The citizens of this community have often called him to positions of honor and trust and at the time of his death he was county supervisor for the Second Ward. He leaves a wife, a daughter Mrs. R. F. Champney, and three sons William D. of Chicago and Bert and Lloyd of this city. The f! uneral services will probably be held at the Baptist church on next Friday afternoon, Rev. Bunyard to officiate. A good man has gone and his departure is mourned by all. The TIMES extends its heartfelt sympathy to the grief-stricken family and other relatives.
