    2. Jeffrey Golden
    3. Donna mentioned that she has gotten Civil War records from the LDS Family History Library. Maybe she can clarify what types of records she means. As far as I know, Civil War pension records (other than index cards) are not available at the FHL, although some older ones, such as those from the Revolutionary War, are. Jeff

    3. I've gotten a lot of Civil War records through the LDS Family History Center - then I know I've got the whole thing and not just the pages some one in Washington thinks I might use. But it does take some work to find the right film number - that can be done on line now days. 3. Just a suggestion to all persons researching their civil war ancestors. When you request the Pension file. Request the ENTIRE FILE. They will send you 20 or so pages of the record if you just request the file. When I received my great grandfather James Rogers file...there was so much in it that I was sure they'd sent the entire file. For some reason on a trip to Washington went down and looked at the file. Total amazement. It took me over an hour to copy the entire file. Since that time I have requested the ENTIRE FILE of another ancestor. They charged me $10.00 and then sent notice that there were 77 more pages and requested $25.00 more dollars. It was well worth the money. I would only do this with pension files though. Good luck Anne

    3. Could anyone tell me when the "old Mauston grade school" was built. It was demolished in 1935 to build an elementary and jr. high school that adjoined the then high school that was across the street from the courthouse. I don't remember the street names anymore.
