Hello All, Sorry for the trouble, but some kook sabotaged my e-mail subscriptions to the Rootsweb.com mailing lists. I can still receive postings to my [email protected] box, or here. I also have about a dozen screen names with two other Internet providers, so if those of you who I am helping will e-mail me privately, I'll give them to you. I hope this problem will resolve itself. Sincerely, Kevin O'Brien Laguna Hills, CA

Hello to the Great State of Wisconsin, I am searching for any information anyone can provide me with regard to the surname TARRANT and FEDEREN. Both families lived in various parts of the state, but spent quite a bit of time in the Minneapolis area. I am searching for PHILIP FEDEREN (1883) and his wife EDITH FEDEREN (1884) and their two children FABIOLA TARRANT (1897) and CECILE TARRANT (1893). They were last known to be in the Twin Cities area in 1944, but their descendants could be anywhere by now. They were relatives of GEORGE A. SHANNON AND ISABELLA (McDonald) SHANNON of Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, and their son ROBERT D. SHANNON, who was last known around 1942-44 to be living in Spencer, Iowa. Robert's wife was named JESSE and his children were ANNABELLE and GEORGE, also of Chippewa Falls, WI. Sometime around 1940-45, the family and the germane cousins and step-relatives scattered about the state for an unknown reason, so I'm asking for help from anyone in ANY Wisconsin County. Any information regarding these families or their descendants would be greatly appreciated. Yes, this was posted to every board in Wisconsin because the families scattered and I'm at the point of desperation. It conforms to the guidelines established by RootsWeb, USGenWeb and that awesome upstart ALHN, so it IS NOT considered spam. Take care all. I wish you the best of luck with your own searches. Sincerely, Kevin O'Brien Laguna Hills, CA USA Researching: SHANNON PERKINS WARNER LOWE IVALL GAULEY VAN SCHAICK DORCHESTER TRUAX SMITH

My great-grandfather, Thomas Taylor, came to Necedah in 1876. His brothers John and Arthur were already in the area. I believe an uncle William was also living here, having arrived before 1850. Any info on these people would be appreciated. Hi Juneau Co. Researchers, Just to let you know that I have been back home since Sep. 24th but wasn't up to doing very much on the computer until just recently. Am now stronger and will be doing some more work on the Juneau Co. web page. The transplant surgery was very successful and my brother is doing fantastic. I will email a separate message which is a short article about the surgery, if anyone is interested. I want to thank everyone for all the prayers, they worked. Thanks again, Jackie Hufschmid Juneau Co., WIGenWeb coordinator
This was posted on Sauk list. Apparently, I had been mis-informed about Naturalization records. Sorry. I still plan to visit the Court House. I'll let you know what I find, if anything about any Juneau County Records kept there. I just searched the State Historical Socity web page but did not find anything useful on "Naturalization" because their index in the on-line catalog is very brief and lacking details. After seeing some of what appears to be direct quotes from a cemetary book on another list, I thought I'd add this reminder about respectings other peoples copyrights. The USGenWeb Project offers four "golden rules of copyright" at : <http://www.usgenweb.org/volunteers/copyright.html> I'm going to visit the courthouse in Baraboo in a couple weeks where I understand they have Naturalization records for Sauk and Juneau Counties. If I have time I will do Naturalization lookups for list members. By next summer, my wife and I will be in our retirement condo on the Wisconsin River, looking across at Juneau County. I hope there will be lots of time to do research then! Terry Thompson, Listkeeper, WIJUNEAU Researching PETERS, LANGE, HAMBURG in Juneau Co.
Would like to correspond with descendants of Richer Family of Juneau Co, WI. I am preparing family hisotry of John Killian Richer of Berlin, Rensselaer Co, NY and need more information about the Juneau Co Richers. Thanks.
Is there any one from Elroy in this group? I would like to know if St.Patricks cemetery and St.Patricks Church have the same tel.# . I am trying to find the date of death of John G. Travenick and his wife so I can send for death certificates. They are a mystery to me. They had 9 children and all but two are buried there. Also only two married . One was my mother-in-law who married Claude Christman and had 2 children : Carol & Gerald Christman. The other never had children. The ancestors seem to start and end in Elroy. I tried to call the church a number of times but was told there is only one priest who covers a number of parishes . No one answers. Peg
Hi Everybody, I have added a brief historical sketch of the Lemonweir church along with some photos of some of the early pastors. The web page is http://www.rootsweb.com/~wijuneau/LemnwrChurch.html Enjoy, Jackie
I am new to genealogy and want to start researching my late husbands sideof the family. His grandparents, aunts, and uncles are buried in St. Patricks Cemetary in Elroy. wi. Their name is Travenick. I have death cert. for the aunts and uncles. Would I send to Madison for birth cert. or are they kept closer to Elroy. Also where would I find naturalization papers for John and Anna Travenick, parents of my mother-in-law and the aunts and uncles. I have nothing on John and Anna and any info would be appreciated. Peg Christman
HI Jackie, Thanks for doing the Civil War Juneau Co. census. When I was in grade school in Mauston in the 30's, I used to know a Civil War veteran that lived a block and one-half from my home on Division Street, across the street from my grandmother. He was a very old man then with white hair and a long white beard, and he walked with a cane. He had a flag pole in the front yard and always flew the American Flag. He lived with his unmarried daughter, Frances. I knew him by Mr. Burritt, but wasn't sure of the spelling until I found him in the the census that you just posted. Thanks for letting me know that his name was John, and that he was a private in the Cavalry.
