My father's farm borders the former Kenyon farm, now owned by the Peterson Family. I just spent all of yesterday in the Jackson County Historical Society and Register of Deeds office, researching the farms in this area and Samuel Kenyon. I am planning on going to the History Room to look at census records to see what family Samuel had. I did find a couple of stories on his murder. And I do know that he had his mother, wife, and a sister-in-law who were at home when he was shot. Also, his son Frank was on his way home when the murder happened. I see your query was posted in 1999. If you have since gathered information, I was wondering if you would be willing to share it.
