We believe that he was born in 1872 in Hays County Texas. He never mentioned his parents by name, but we were told that they may have been from Tennessee. My grandfather was in his 60's when my Dad was born in 1931. He was married twice and at some point before or after the birth of my father, changed his last name to Franklin.
