He was born in Scotland or the Isle of Man in 1854 and was adopted into the David Alvard family sometime around 1865-1870. He may have had another adopted brother named Edward. In 1878 he married Evangeline Riddle and had 4 children - George, Clara Ann, David and Laura. He died June 14th, 1915. I am trying to locate his biological parents which may be James Blakesly (or Blakeslee) and the circumstances behind his adoption.
