I'm still searching for any connections to my great grandparents, Karen Andrea Oleson and Nels Pederson (m. 1872) of Black River Falls. Their children were Peder Oscar, Anna Mathilda (sp?), Bertha Catherine (Betsy/Bess), Carl NORDAHL, and Ella (my grandmother)--I have been looking for the name NORDAHL, hoping that I would somehow find a family connection, as this seems an odd middle name unless it were a family name. I only know that Karen (called Anna and Carrie) and Nels were said to have come from Kristiania. Also--Karen's brother, Martin Oleson, mentioned coming from Biri on his marriage application. (However--I can't find him there). Nels and Karen Pederson moved to Portland, Oregon near 1900, as they are listed in the 1900 Fed. Census at that time, and Nels (Nelson) is listed as a machinist.
