Also, at least one of them who married my 2nd great grandfather's brother (a WRIGHT) was either a CHICHESTER or CHIDESTER. First name Edna. This was all in the mid to late 1800s. What time period are you searching for information from? And what (specifically) are you trying to learn? Sincerely, Norma

Posted on: Jackson County Wi. Query Forum Reply Here: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/genbbs.cgi/USA/Wi/Jackson/10442 Surname: ------------------------- I was born and raised in "Kenyon Valley". My father's farm borders the former Kenyon farm, now owned by the Peterson Family. I just spent all of yesterday in the Jackson County Historical Society and Register of Deeds office, researching the farms in this area and Samuel Kenyon. I am planning on going to the History Room to look at census records to see what family Samuel had. I did find a couple of stories on his murder. And I do know that he had his mother, wife, and a sister-in-law who were at home when he was shot. Also, his son Frank was on his way home when the murder happened. I see your query was posted in 1999. If you have since gathered information, I was wondering if you would be willing to share it. I am hoping to put together a history of the Kenyon Valley are for our local Historical Society. Otherwise I can send you copies of what I have found here. Thank you for your consideration. Susan L. Posted on: Jackson County Wi. Query Forum Reply Here: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/genbbs.cgi/USA/Wi/Jackson/10430 Surname: Nordahl, Ross, Letson ------------------------- My great grandfather (father's mother's side), Oluf Edward Nordahl, was born in Sweden on February 28, 1853 and died in Black River Falls on Nov. 28, 1939. I believe they lived in different areas of Jackson Co. They had seven children: Olof August Herman, Jacob Christian Anselm, Ernest Gustaf Sigfrid, Charles J., Annie, Agnes Olivia (my grandmother) and Hazel. I don't know much about any of these relatives. I checked the childrens' names of these and don't see a Carl. The last three were born in the U.S. while the others were all born in Sweden. Strike any bells? I don't see a connection. Wish there were. Dan
Posted on: Jackson County Wi. Query Forum Reply Here: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/genbbs.cgi/USA/Wi/Jackson/10429 Surname: Pederson, Oleson, Christianson, Nordahl ------------------------- I noticed the surname, NORDAHL, in your Jackson County, WI Query. I'm still searching for any connections to my great grandparents, Karen Andrea Oleson and Nels Pederson (m. 1872) of Black River Falls. Their children were Peder Oscar, Anna Mathilda (sp?), Bertha Catherine (Betsy/Bess), Carl NORDAHL, and Ella (my grandmother)--I have been looking for the name NORDAHL, hoping that I would somehow find a family connection, as this seems an odd middle name unless it were a family name. I only know that Karen (called Anna and Carrie) and Nels were said to have come from Kristiania. Also--Karen's brother, Martin Oleson, mentioned coming from Biri on his marriage application. (However--I can't find him there). Nels and Karen Pederson moved to Portland, Oregon near 1900, as they are listed in the 1900 Fed. Census at that time, and Nels (Nelson) is listed as a machinist. Can you give me any clues about any NORDAHL families? Help :) Thanks for whatever you might do--I'm sorry I can't help you--unless, of course we have a connection:) Linda Swanson , Moscow, Idaho :)
