Helens Birthday is August 30, 1906 and she married Henry Van Zandt but I don't know when the marriage took place. I do know she passed away somewhere out west on July 30 1957. 1. BOYEA / MILLER family in Jackson Co. WI
    2. Hi Jeanine: I have a little bit of good news for you. I recently purchased the 1880 Census from the LDS Church (56 CD's, 50+million names, with a National Alphabetical Index for $49.00)** and I found your BOYEA family in Albion, Jackson Co., WI. FHL film #1255429, if you want to look at the microfilm of the census record. Here they are: BOYEA, Alfred, head of household, age 35, born CAN. father & mother b. CANADA Anna, wife, age 26, born MO, father b. PA, mother b. KY. Isaiah, son, age 9, born WI. May, daughter, age 6, born WI. Ray, son, age 2, born WI, William, son, age 3 months, born WI. Also enumerated in their home was: MATHEWS, Rosalie, relationship "Other", age 49, born MI. Father & mother b. OH. I also noticed some MILLER families in Jackson County, but have no way of knowing if they might be related. One such is the family of Reuben Miller in Garden Valley, Jackson County. He has an eleven year old daughter named "Anna M. Miller" -- I thought she might be named for his sister, or something. Reuben is 42 years of age and he and his parents are born in PA -- same as your Anna M. Miller. Reuben also has a son, William age 17. As it turns out, this lovely family of yours were neighbors to some of my relatives; and my relatives were in the business of Lumbering and had saw mills. I'll bet they knew each other well. Alfred's occupation is given as "Lumberman." Anna doesn't have an occupation given. The oldest two children are listed as occupation: "At School." I hope this helps you. I'm still working on the LOWER connection. Norma Jean Herzman ** I receive no commission for this advertisement!!

Query Forum Reply Here: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/genbbs.cgi/USA/Wi/Jackson/10463 Surname: Callender ------------------------- Is it possible that Helen's surname may have been Callender? This spelling would have been more familiar with the Melrose area than Gallender. Possibly her married name would give clues, her death date, where she died? Were her parent's names given on her marriage or death record?

    3. Posted on: Jackson County Wi. Query Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Wi/Jackson/10459 Surname: Miller, Boyea, Lowers ------------------------- There are so many Wm. Millers, as you say. Thanks for responding. The line we are researching came from VA to MO to WI. Two siblings, William and Annie/Anna came together from MO, we assume born there. Their father from VA originally. His name Isaiah Randolph Miller, b.11 Mar.1833, d. 14 Feb 1910. Son Wm. b. 1858/9, d. 1927, buried in Ladysmith. His sibling (we assume full) was Anna Martin Miller, no dates known, married Alphonse Boyea, all of their children, well at least 3 of 4, born Black River Falls. They had a (probable) half-sib, Americus Columbus Miller, quite a bit younger, who came from MO to WI with his father after the older sibs. The elder Miller was born in VA, and his father was named William, too, born in Germany. I suppose he could have come to VA by way of NY. Maybe this will help you rule any connection in or out. If "in", let us know! Best wishes in your research. These "common" names are especially tough. We believe our Miller/Boyea family lived in Jackson County at least during the years that their children were born.

Query Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Wi/Jackson/10458 Surname: Miller ------------------------- Always hate when there are two William Millers in the area as it is such a common name. Our Millers came from New York state and I don't know of any of our William Miller's siblings. Can't get that generation together and researching New York. Sue Eddy in Black River Falls would be a great source for you. E-mail me directly for her e-mail address if you don't have it. We have been out of the country and just returned today when I received notice of your post.

    3. Posted on: Jackson County Wi. Query Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Wi/Jackson/10456 Surname: Lower, Boyea, Miller ------------------------- Noticed the Lower surname in your query. We are researching a line that included Alphonse aka Ezra Boyea who married or bore 4 children with Anna M. Miller. He from Canada, she from MO. We do not know their birth or death dates, but their 4 children were born between 1872 and 1880, the eldest and third born in Black River Falls, Jackson County. The parents are our "brick wall". To further confuse the matter, the mother, Anna, appears on the youngest child's marriage cert. of 1896 as mother of the groom--Annie Martin Lower(s). We suspect Mr. Boyea died before this 1896 marriage since father of the groom is listed as "given name unknown" Boyea. Have you run across anything related? Thanks for any help you may be able to give. Best wishes in your own research, too! Jeanine

    3. Posted on: Jackson County Wi. Query Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Wi/Jackson/10455 Surname: Miller, Boyea ------------------------- The Miller line we are working on is a brother, Wm., and his sister Anna from MO, who came, likely mid-1800s, to WI. Anna married/bore children of Alphonse aka Ezra Boyea, 4 children born between 1872 and 1880, and the eldest and third are documented born in Black River Falls, in Jackson County. The children, at least, later lived and died in the EauClaire Cty and Chippewa Cty areas, locales such as Cadott and Ludington. I see that Alma Center is very close to Black River. We do not know why the two Miller siblings came to WI, apparently together, but without their father, Isaiah Randolph Miller, although he came later on, and is buried in the Ludington Cemetery with three of the Boyea children born to Anna Miller. Boyea children were Isaiah, Anna May, Alphon Ray, and William. Have you run across this line? We speculate that William and Anna Miller came to WI because they knew someone here, or had family here. Right now, Anna is our "brick wall". Best wishes with YOUR searches! Jeanine
