Hi! I am looking for information on the family of Emil Peter and Elizabeth (MAXSON) VANDERVORT who were married 5 Nov 1924 and who lived in the Black River Falls area. Emil d.1931 and Elizabeth d.1934. They had two sons: Thomas VANDERVORT b. ca. 1925-29 Theodore VANDERVORT b. ca. 1927-31 I would like to know where Emil and Elizabeth are buried and also find out about their descendants. I have a great deal of this line of VANDERVORT's ancestry to share. These two boys were quite young at the time of their parents death - does anyone know what happened to them? I would appreciate any help you are able to offer. Karla Staudt staudt@cptelco.net
Is there an e-mail addy for the genealogy room at the BRF library? The one given on-line doesn't work.
Hi Pam, Have you finished connecting your family to the main family lineage? I have a number of these family members in the family records, and would enjoy helping you sort them out. Send me an email (cnorth@concentric.net), and we can try to get these "lost sheep" (unconnected families) attached to the main family lineage. Best regards, Clyde ;-)

Looking for the death record of my Grgrandmother Suzanne Hansen Heldal b. 19-Nov.1821. I have found the death of her husband Ellef Mortensen in 24-Feb.-1896 the in Jackson County records. Vol.2-Pg. 21. Don'tknow if she would be Hansen or Mortensen here.s Their children were: 1. Hans Ellefsen- (19 Jan 1845 - )I have his other records. My grgrandfather. 2. Morten Ellefsen- (Abt 1851 - ) 3. Karen N. Ellefsdatter- (Abt 1854 - ) 4. Ole Ellefsen- (Abt 1858 - ) 5. Elevine Susanne Eleffsdatter- (Abt 1862 - ) I have not found their immigration. They lived in Lovisenberg, Kragero, Telemark, Norway in 1865. Their son and his family, Hans Ellefson Helle, Kragero,Telemark, Norway.Iimmigrated in 1871 at Quebec. They left from Tvestrand. I have been told that records were not kept at that port. I have checked the church records of persons leaving Kragero at Vesterheim and didn't find them. This family attended Little Norway Lutheran Church, and I believe those records were kept at the Evangelical Lutheran Church in BRF. I know there is a reel of of those early church records1860's to about 1900+ at the Library, but I may have missed something and it could be that she died later than Ellef and isn't on reel the next reel. any help or suggestions appreciated, Irene

Posted on: Jackson County Wi. Query Forum Reply Here: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/genbbs.cgi/USA/Wi/Jackson/10465 Surname: ------------------------- It would be difficult to help without more information. You probably need to find her death record and if she died as Van Zandt or under another surname - somewhere out west covers alot of territory. Its possible if you knew her surname at the time of death, you could check the SS Death Index for a listing and go from there. I'm not sure how you determined she was born in Melrose, but there is no birth record, delayed or otherwise, listed for her in Jackson County, WI.
