It does not give her parents names, but the dates and locations could be a match. It says that "when she became ill, one and a half years ago, her parents moved from Hixton to BRF to be close to her grandmother." If this would be of any interest to anyone, please contact me and I will forward the rest of the article. I also am curious why my dad kept this article for so many years.

There is one of him with a very large group of schoolchildren (abt. 1892) also. There is a charge and photo policies, but the society does make them available for family history researchers. There are no listings for them in the local cemeteries here and they didn't file any birth records for their children, so it is possible they moved instead of remaining in this area. I see they were married in Chippewa County, WI.

Below is all I know and have on my line.. This is as far as back as I was able to get anyway until I hit that perverbiale brick wall: My GG-Grandfather was Peter Hoffman who was born in Jackson, Washington Co. Wisc. and as far as I know Peter and Katerina were his parents. At least that is what is listed on his marriage certificate. I have tried postings and also have looked through Census tapes for WI. within the time line of his birth but there were to many Peter Hoffman familys there with wives names the same but with differnt children for me to completely be able to verify my line. Here is all I have at this time: Descendants of Peter Hoffman Generation No. 1 1. PETER1 HOFFMAN was born Bet. 1818 - 1819 in Bavaria. He married KATERINA ( CATHERINA) SMITH. She was born Bet. 1823 - 1824 in Bavaria. Child of PETER HOFFMAN and KATERINA SMITH is: i. PETER2 HOFFMAN, b. October 12, 1848, Jackson, Washington County, Wisconsin; d. December 27, 1923, Austin, Mower County, Minnesota; m. CHRISTINNA WILAMINA SOPHIA KRUSE, March 16, 1881, Freeport, Illoniose; b. December 29, 1859, Freeport, Stephenson County, Iloniose; d. I have a Whipple who married a Pratt. Julia Whipple married Percival Pratt. I know relatively little about them. Percival W. Pratt was born in Erie County, New York April 22 1828. He died March 1898 in Barron County, WI. He is the son of Stephen Pratt, Jr. and Anna Jones. Percival is the brother of my ggg-grandfather, George WIlliam Pratt. I know nothing of Julia. I have the following notations regarding Percival: *Percival was called "Wiley" and operated a boarding house at Millston, WI before moving north to Barron Co probably following the loggers during the great harvest of the virgin pine forests. *From BSB, Shamrock News, May 15, 1885: "Barney Crossen will move his family into P.W. Pratt's house here today." *From BSB, Millston News, November 27, 1885: "P.W. Pratt and family moved their goods from the hotel Monday. Mr. Pratt will go back to his farm in Shamrock. The new landlord, J.A. Mills, took possession on Monday." *From BSB, Shamrock News, December 11, 1885: "P.W. Pratt and wife visited their daughter, Mrs. R. Clark, of Millston, the fore part of this week." Danielle Nauman daniellenauman@hotmail.com
