    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/oEC.2ACE/506.2 Message Board Post: There is a one-liner about your Theodore Barber and a photo of him in a book called "Recollections of Columbia, Wisconsin" published 1974, written by Mabel (Sally) Schlender Jonkel. Columbia was a town that no longer exists and was in Clark County, between Neillsville and Merrillan. On page 8 of this book it says, "Then Theodore Barber of Withee came in as principal." Then there is a very nice photo of him, approx a 3&1/2 by 4&1/2. Under the photo it says, "Professor Barber from Withee added dignity to the school scene." There really isn't a date with this, as she is just listing the various teachers that taught at the Columbia school, starting in the early 1890's and going to 1945 when it closed. The photo is a professionally done one. If you would like me to make a copy of this page for you I would be glad to do it, just send me your address. Also, FYI, there is presently being done a book about Alma Center, to be done next year, as part of the celebration of the ! centennial of Alma Center. Perhaps there will be something about him in there. Jane

As you surmised, Robert Zamrzla is my Grandmother's younger brother, my great Uncle. My original post was due to my inability to read the 1900 census several years ago when I located the family (word was that they were still in Chicago in 1900 but they were actually in Jackson Co., WI). Thanks very much for your reply...I appreciate it.

Also years ago known as Pleasantview and sometimes Hardscrabble. There is still living here in Jackson County a Robert Zamrzla. He is a very nice man, quite elderly now. I don't know what township he lives in but I do know that it is not Brockway, but I would bet to guess that he is a descendant, as far as I know they are the only Zamrzla's in the area. Look at some of the first postings I put in, I gave info on address's etc. where you could find info. Good luck. Jill

Most of the Simplots there are direct descendants of Benjamin Simplot. He was my Grandmothers first husbands father-in-law. Her first husband was John Simplot. He was killed in a hunting accident and she then married my grandfather, Earl John Taylor. But at any rate look at the Simplot roots web, there you will be able to hook up with Simplots who have traced the tree all the way back. If not I do have quite a bit of info on the Simplots that if I ever get caught up I will be will to share. There is also listed info on the annual Taylor/Simplot family reunion. Good Luck. Jill

As a matter of fact there was or is a Theadore Lindow living here now. He is quite elderly. He has a sister Elvy Nandory. Son Creswell Lindow. I will see if it is ok if I post more info. or if they are connect to the internet or have a computer I will give them this web site. I am not friends with them but know who they are. Good Luck. If not, I did post address of local Black River Falls, Jackson County, WI papers, Library, etc. Like I said I don't have any info on them but I do know that they still live here. As a matter of fact from what Mrs. Nandory has told me they were some of the first settlers of this area. What is now known as the main part of the cities residencial area her parents once owned. They were quite well do to for the time and sold off their farm to the city for developement, if I have it right. Anyway good luck. Jill

As soon as I get it I will send them to you in the mean time........... As I had said before Matthew Maule is in the Sechlerville Cemetary, just south of Hixton, Jackson County, Wi. They are the second row back from the Sechlerville cemetary sign, they were very easy to locate, it is a small cemetary. There is a family stone in the center. To the right of the stone is Matthew and Eliza. The only thing listed on the stones is birth and death years and reads as follows Matthew Maule 1819-1891; Eliza 1883-1911 then on the left side of the family stone is Will and Elizabeth and their stones read as follows: Will Maule 1870-1945; Elizabeth 1863-1947. As soon as I get my camera issuse resolved I will email you the pictures. Sorry for the delay. Jill Borreson

The initial cost for purchasing a photo is $3.25 to cover the negative (if one is not found for this photo) which is placed on file at the society. 3 X 4 is $6.00 5 X 7 is $10 and * X 10 is $15. A Letter of Indemnification would be required which merely states the photo is for family history and not commercial use. Think I've covered it all. Good luck.
