I have a little bit of information for you if you want to contact me. Enoch Locken was the son of Edward "Ed" Locken. Edward Locken came from Norway in 1884 to Black River Falls at the age of 19 years old. He had been taught the skill of shoemaking in Norway and inspired him to open a shoe store in Downtown Black River Falls in 1886. The business was called Locken Shoe Company. The business was destroyed during the Flood of 1911 and was rebuilt shortly after where the building still stands. Enoch took over his father business and ran it until 1964 when Enoch retired and sold the business. The Locken Shoe Company was in business in Black River Falls for 78 years. I would have a few more details if you want more information. You can contact me Darren Durman at durman@cuttingedge.net Hope this helps.
