Cotton in the Curtis Cemetery in Garden Valley, Jackson County,WI. If I remember correctly, he had a Civil War tombstone. Also, a young son's grave. Can't recall a Rachel, but perhaps. Next time I drive by, I'll try to get more complete information.

Emma born 27 April 1892 in Wrightsville d 21 Feb. 1967 in Harvard Ill. Emma's parents were I believe William and Lina (VOIGT) PFEFFERKORN. I have seen my grandmother's headstone and it has the name "Puch" on it. Either the Pugh's are another family, or whomever recorded the names in the cemetery misspelled the last names.

They came from what is known as Old Austria, now Yugoslavia, and settled on a farm outside of Millston. My grandfather changed his last name from Puh to Puch sometime after arriving in the United States. He also changed his first name to Andrew, but we do not know from any records what his original name was. Would appreciate ANY information!

Mr. STIEHL is a veteran of Company K, 23rd Regiment, Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry. Mr. STIEHL came to Jackson County in 1867, from Sauk county, and bought a farm in the town of Springfield. He was married January 1st 1867 to Miss Christina Margaret JENEWEINE, at the home fo the bride's parents, in the town of Honey Creek, Sauk County, Wis., the Rev. John Hameter of the German Evangelical Church officiating. The Stiehl's lived on their town of Springfield farm until April 1891, when they moved to Black River Falls to give their children the advantages of better educational facilities here. They are the parents of seven children: Miss Emily of Madison; Joe H of Merrillan; Mary (Mrs W H COTRELL) of Chicago; Miss Lydia of Madison; Rose (Mrs W HALSTEIN) of Madison; and Misses Sarah and Ella, also of Madison. Mrs. L. M. BRAZEE will also be there, Mrs. BRAZEE being a sister of Mr. STIEHL. The Brazee's celebrated their 50th anniversary last September. According to an obituary and newspaper article, they were living in Hatfield, Jackson Co., Wisconsin about 1929. They were in Black Creek on the 1920 census, and the Town of Maine before that. I am assuming that they passed away in this county. I am also looking for their children: Myrtle Viola, Elton Ordell, Julius Morgan, Esther Elvina, Clyde Everett, and Violet Marion FALK. I started the Horswill tree with William K. horswill and Ellenore Pierce .I have names and dates up to myself. William K. came from Devonshire England. He sent for his family in 1849 and met Ellenore and the children Mira, William, John w., Jane, George, and James at the New York harbor . The rest of the children were born in the states.
