I am searching for anyone who knows something about a Bill Flagel in Town of Manchester, Green Lake County in the late 1800s early 1900s. I do not understand this name. I found him listed in the 1880 census with Fredreich Mueller and the relationship was "son." I didn't use to document my sources as well as I do now and am now very sorry about it. At any rate, I think I remember my Grandmother telling me that he was a "sort of" stepson. He may have come from Germany with the family, I don't know. The census shows him born in Mecklenburg which is also where Frederich Mueller came from. I have him married to Elizabeth E. ____. And my original notes from Grandma said she thought he married a Weisel. Another researcher, a descendant of Conrad Weisel, who has done a great deal of research on the Weisel family in Green Lake County. She thinks my marriage info is an error. My source was the 1910 census where I found a "Flagel, William J., Head, M, W, 59 years, Married 29 years; Born Germany; Parents Born Germany; Immigrated 1856 PA; Mason, Stone Work, with Elizabeth E., Wife, F, W, 49 years, Married 29 years; 7 Children - 6 Living; Born Wisconsin; Parents born Germany." Seemed like he was the same as the person I had previously listed as Bill Flagel. I have, however, seen other genealogists have him married to Mary Weisel, but do not know their sources yet. What more do any of you know about this? I sure would like to get it straightened out. Help! Help! Help!
