My ggrandfather Charles Gehrke, sr, was born in 1852 in New York to German-born parents. We believe their roots were in Hanover. Charles married Charlotte Rosanna Fallis from Milbrooke, Cavan Township, Upham County, Ontario. The couple was married 22 years on the 1900 Wisconsin census, but Charlotte indicates she has only lived in the United States for 18 years so I believe they lived in Canada for a period of time. Perhaps Charles' family moved to Canada from New York and never left there. I do not know if Charles or Rosanna had any siblings. They had many children most of whom were born in Langelade County, but I am not sure where the oldest children were born; that would include my grandfather. Can you make any connection anywhere?
