Posted on: GreenLake Co. Wi Query Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Wi/GreenLake/336 Surname: Schmuhl, Shubert, Shrader ------------------------- Much of this information has a Green Lake County setting. David, the names are connected. I think you will be able to give me much added information, or your mother can. Space here will not be sufficient for all you might wish to know so will be sending you an e-mail. My wife is Alice Amelia Schubert, daughter of Gustav Adolph Shubert and Mildred Merle Slaback. Gustav, long ago deceased, is the only child of Amelia Shrader and Adolph Augustus Shubert. Amelia first married Adolph; they divorced after some 19 years of marriage and Amelia married, as I recall, a Mr. birkholz, who soon died. She married a 3d time to Winterhack and lies at eternal rest with him in the Woodlawn(?) cemetery at Ripon. Amelia was born in Germany in 1864 and moved with her parents, Frederick? Wilhelm Shrader and Carlina or Caroline Boack(Boeck?) to Wisconsin. Emma was born thr 7th of March, 1875 when the family lived in Dodge County. I don't know where the third family sibling, Gustoff, was born in 1867 but he is buried at Princeton, Wisconsin. I have some information on the six children of Richard and Emma. Alice and I have met Ben and Caroline several times and visited with Myrtle Emma at least once. We may have met others at a family gathering shortly after Alice and I were married. I remember that when we stopped by at Myrtle's house, she had pictures of Alice, and Alice's sister Gusta, when the girls were small. In summary, William would be a cousin of Gustav Shubert; Alice would be a second cousin to Elizabeth and a second cousin once removed to you. Before I send that e-mail I will wait to hear from you as you will probably have more questions. Have fun getting your genealogy together. Russ Williams

Margaret stated on her Soc. Sec. application in 1936 that her parents were: Anthony Bronk and Albertine Kosmoske. I have visited Green Lake Court house and sent inquiries to Waushara and Marquette counties and have found no record of Margaret's birth or her parents marriage. Margaret was married in 1903 in Milwaukee to Edward W. Beresford and they had two sons, Eugene and Edward, Jr. I would be grateful for any clue as to possible family connections in the area.

Wi Query Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Wi/GreenLake/332 Surname: ------------------------- It is so neat that after all this time I finally find not one, but TWO people doing research on DOMAGALA! I definitely have to plan a trip to Green Lake. As for Catherine Domagata, she is probably in the Oborniki records. There is a Thomas Domagala that had many children in the early 1800's. If this is the right family, it will also give Francis' maiden name. There are many different villages listed in the Ludomy church records. The local parish was in Ludomy, so that is where all the Catholic records were kept. Yes, Domagata and Domagala/Domagawa are the same name. The Polish alphabet has a letter that looks like an "l" with a line through it (or basically a "t"). During transcription, it gets turned into an "l" or a "t". This goofy "l" or "t" letter sounds like "w", so that's where Domagawa comes from. Confusing, huh? Anyway, I'm going to FHC on Monday. If I come across anything on Catharina or Thomas, I'll let you know. Talk to you soon.

Parents were listed as Thomas Domagata & Frances...this was according to the records at St. John's the Bapist Catholic Church in Princeton,Green Lake Co., WI. Given to me by Josephine Bartel-church secretary The spelling of Domagala is so similiar...possibly a connection ??? Do you have show a Thomas & Frances Domgata/Domagala ? Posted on: GreenLake Co. Wi Query Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Wi/GreenLake/330 Surname: ------------------------- I am currently researching a Rosalia Domagala Labuy who lived in Green Lake Co. for many years. She was born in Ludomy,Poland Oborniki Province in about 1817. She immigrated in 1854 and settled in the Princeton area. I am currently doing transcribing from the Catholic church records of Ludomy, and there are quite a few Domagala's in the registry in the late 1700's and early 1800's. The l in Domagala is pronounced as a "w" and is sometimes spelled Domagawa or Domogawa.
Here is a site you might find interesting. Deb Gunther, listowner ============================ Newspaper Abstracts - where we are finding our ancestors in the news! Over the years many records regarding our ancestors were lost or destroyed in fires, floods and other natural disasters. Newspapers contain much information that may not be found elsewhere such as births, marriages, deaths, court notices, land sales, tax notices, businesses, etc. They hold many glimpses of information in their community news and provide us with many fascinating details about the lives of our ancestors from the businesses they frequented to the hardships and triumphs they endured while building a new life in a new land. Newspaper abstracts came online October 1999 and since that time has grown to over 2,800 pages of data all of which has been contributed by volunteers. This site contains abstracts, extracts and links to newspaper articles across the United States, Ireland and Canada published prior to 1923. More volunteers are also needed in all geographic areas - no submissions are too small or too large! Mr. McINTYRE was born on October 29th, 1820. Two years ago he moved from Princeton on a farm two miles north of Friendship and resided thereon up to the time of his demise. On the first day of January, 1891, he was taken ill and had gradually grown worse, and at times experienced intense suffering, until early on the morning of January 30th, when he was called to go on to the home where his sufferings would be no more. His remains were taken to Princeton and there laid at rest in the family lot, the services being held Wednesday. The warmest sympathy is with the bereaved widow, who, owing to a severe attack of the grippe, was compelled to remain at home. Mr. McINTYRE was a faithful member of the Congregational church, a member of the Odd Fellows Society and a man who was a friend to everyone who made his acquaintance. He leaves a widow and five grown-up children, three boys and two girls, who deeply mourn the departure of a loving husband and an affectionate father.
