George Glennan was born March 16, 1855 at Gennessee Waukesha Co., Wisc and in 1858 his family moved to Albany, where he has since made his home. He was an unusually talented man, possessing a fine education, good business qualifications and a large fund of general information which made him a very entertaining companion. He was a great student, and was the possessor of a large library of the choicest literature. His whole life seemed to be wrapped up in his books and the midnight hour often found him poring over some favorite volume. To the people of this vicinity, he was well and favorably known, having filled many positions of honor and trust wilth ability and satisfaction to all parties concerned. Honest to a fault, generous and self-sacrificing, without an enemy he has lived amont us, and the whole community mourn as for the loss of a brother. He leaves a widowed mother, two sisters and a brother, who deeply mourn their loss. A few days since he went to Milwaukee to visit his brother who resides there and it was at his residence that he passed away on Sunday morning October 1. His remains were brought home for interment. The funeral services were held at the M.E. Church Monday at 2:00 pm, conducted by the Rev. H.A. Rogers and were attended by a large concourse of friends and his remains rest in the village cemetery.
