Edmonds (born Swancutt) only daughter of John and Margaret Swancutt, was born in the English settlement in the town of Albany, Wisc. Nov. 9, 1856. Her father died in 1860 and she made her home with her mother until she was married to Thomas Edmonds on Dec. 20, 1874. They removed to Estherville, Iowa, in the spring of 1892, where she died Jan. 10, 1894, after a short illness. Her death was a very sudden and unexpected thing, as she was not considered dangerously ill. Deceased leaves a husband and 8 children, the youngest being only 7 weeks old, besides her mother and many relatives to mourn their loss. The remains were brought here and interred in the English Settlement Cemetery last Saturday. Rev. Scofield, of Evansville, conducted the funeral services, which were very largely attended, over 40 teams being in the procession. The bereaved family and relations have the sympathy of all.
