Wi Obituaries Reply Here: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/gc/USA/Wi/GreenObits/10602 Surname: Patterson, Peebles ------------------------- Albany, Green County Wisconsin Vindicator Thursday, March 1, 1894 Maude Ethel Peterson was born in York Co., Neb. Dec. 6, 1872, and died at the home of Mrs. E. M. Peebles near Albany on Sunday, Feb. 25, 1894. The immediate cause of her death was heart failure, death coming suddenly, before many of her friends knew that she was sick. She was the daughter of J.G. and Mary Patterson. Her mother died when Ethel was but six years old. She came to live with her aunt, Mrs. Peebles, and continued to make that her home until her death. During the last two years she attended the Albany High School, teaching the summer term of her home district. Her life was singularly sweet and pure and free from those petty annoyances that often accompany thoughtless childhood. Care and love for those around her were her strongest traits of character manifesting them in that way that binds heart to heart, whose severing alone reveals the depth of love unknown before. Self, in all things was her last thought, and so diligently and unassumingly did she pursue her mission of love that the few short years spent here has been as a benediction, blessed and blessing all who came in contact with her. Men and women are said to be immortal until their work is done. Thus has she lived her allotted time. Taken from us in the flower of her youth; but called hence to a higher, more noble life. She was buried at the M.E. Church yesterday at 2:00 pm, her schoolmates attending in a body. Many flowers and tokens of love were placed upon the casket by her friends who came to do honor to her memory. H.B.W.
