Wi Obituaries Reply Here: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/gc/USA/Wi/GreenObits/10593 Surname: Patterson, McCreedy ------------------------- Albany, Green County Wisconsin Vindicator, Thursday, Jan. 28, 1897 The subject of this sketch, Mrs. Maria McCreedy Patterson, was born in Plattburg, Clinton Co., NY Jan. 8, 1825, moving when a child to Ohio, where her girlhood days were spent, she living with her father helping to care for her younger brothers and sister, after her mother's death, until Sept. 10, 1847, when she was married to Franklyn Patterson and came to Wisconsin settling in Brooklyn, Green County, where she has resided for nearly 50 years, working hard and helping her husband get a home for themselves and children. She was a true, devoted wife and a kind and loving mother, denying herself not only for her own but for all who were near and dear to her. She was converted in early life, joining the M.E. Church and living a Christian life, which was truly shown in her long illness of 15 weeks, until death relieved her of her suffering on Jan. 20,1897. She leaves her aged husband, three sons and two brothers and one sister to mourn their loss. The funeral was held from her late residence by Rev. C.C. Swartz, and the remains interred in the Jug Prairie Cemetery.
