Mrs. E. F. Sherwood Hurlburt died at her home in the town of Sylvester on Thursday April 27, aged 77 years, 2 months and 4 days. She was born in Fairfield, NY Feb. 23, 1816. At the age of 16 years, her parents removed to Manlius, NY where she was married to Darwin Hurlburt Nov. 13, 1833. They came to Sylvester in 1839 where they have since resided. Eight children were born to them, all but one of them are now living. Mrs. Hurlburt was a life long Christian. She tood a great deal of interest in matters of public interest and also possessed a fine literary taste. Added to her personal address this made her a very popular lady, who will be long mourned, not only by her family, but by the entire community. The funeral was held from the Gap Church on Saturday, conducted by the Rev. J.C. Carter
