Hello Green County genealogists! I am new to your list and am looking for any "legal" documentation connecting John Bridge, who lived in the Monroe, WI area from 1836 until his death in 1855 (which was actually occurred in Ohio where he was visiting a friend). My ancestral line would run through the marriage of his daughter Matilda to Joel DeCamp. I have a wonderful manuscript history from the library in Platteville of this family which states each of his children by name, including Matilda. However, I have not been able to find any actual historical documentation which confirms this. In the histories of Green County there is no mention of Matilda, but that Joel DeCamp joined the Bridges in Green County when they left Ohio in 1836. I have documentation that "Matilda Bridge married Joel DeCamp" in 1826 in Preble Co. Ohio. John Bridge wrote a will in Green County, which the manuscript I have says is in the court house in Monroe. I am assuming this document would name Matilda as a descendant, but I won't know until I see it. Has anyone seen any other documentation like this, which would confirm the relationship between Matilda and John Bridge? Is anyone connected to this list maybe also related to the John Bridges of "New Jersey, Ohio and Wisconsin?" Many thanks in advance! Sincerely, Rick DCamp Dr. Richard M.
