Wi Obituaries Reply Here: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/gc/USA/Wi/GreenObits/10537 Surname: Robb, Smiley ------------------------- Albany, Green County Wisconsin Vindicator, Thursday, june 6, 1889 Obituary Udail (Kas.) Record As announced in our issue of last week, Samuel Robb departed this life at his home about one mile east of Udail, on Friday morning, May 27, 1889. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. A. Coffey, assisted by Rev. J. McCollister, at 1:00 on Saturday afternoon. He was one of the earliest settlers in this neighborhood and as was befitting, the service was attended by a large concourse of sympathetic friends and neighbors, many of whom accompanied the remains to the Walck cemetery, where they were laid beside the graves of his two daughters, who had preceded him to this beautiful city of the dead. We have furnished the following facts: Samuel Robb was born in Union County, Pa June 2, 1817. From his native state he removed to Illinois, where he lived for about two years. From thence he went to Wisconsin, where he was married to Martha Smiley on June 7, 1847. From Wisconsin he came to Kansas in 1870 and located on a claim on which he lived until he died May 17, 1889, aged 72 years, 11 months and 14 days. From his family of 9, five sons and one daughter, together with his wife, survive him. He never made a profession of religion, but bore a good reputation in the neighborhood for strict honesty, and was a kind man and a loving father, and husband, an obliging neighbor and was respected by all who knew him.
