Partridge, aged 49 years, 4 months and 8 days. Deceased was born in Albany, New York, March 29, 1842. In 1845 he came with his parents to Janesville, Wisconsin, and in 1858 removed to the homestead where his last hours were spent. During a residence of 33 years in this community, he proved himself an honest, upright citizen whose character was above reproach and enjoyed the perfect confidence of all who knew him. Mr. Partridge had been gradually failing in health for the last three years, but within the last 6 or 8 months he declined rapidly, quick consumption having fastened itself upon him. On the 28th of Jan., 1866, he was married to Priscilla Horne, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R.W. Horne of Janesville, Wisc. who with four children--two sons and two daughters, also two brothers and two sisters, are left to mourn the loss of a kind and loving husband, father and kinsman. The funeral was held in the M.E. Church in this village Saturday afternoon, conducted by the Rev. H.A. Rogers, who spoke words of consolation to the grief-stricken family and friends of the departed. Among those from a distance who attended the funeral were: William and David Partridge of Plymouth; Mrs. R.W. Horne of Brodhead; and John Rood and family of Evansville. Deep sympathy is manifested by the entire community for the sorrowing ones.
