Wi Obituaries Reply Here: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/gc/USA/Wi/GreenObits/10535 Surname: Tilley, Williams, Smith, Newman ------------------------- Albany, Green County Wisconsin Vindicator, Thursday, October 10, 1895 Edward Tilley was born in Churchstoke, Montgomery County, England, Oct. 3, 1833, and died in Albany, Wisconsin on Ocotober 4, 1895, being 62 years of age. He came to America with his parents in May, 1852 and located in albany where he resided until the time of his death. He was married to Elizabeth Williams July 11, 1858. His wife and two daughters, Mrs. Arthur Smith and Mrs. Charles Newman, survive him and two sisters, Martha and Mary,mourn their loss. An affectionate father and husband, a helper of the homeless within his reach, always active in relieving the distress whether at the fireside or bedside, in sickness or in health, Ed Tilley is remembered by the old settlers as one active and prompt when duty called him to the side of the sick, the dying and the dead. For 43 years he has been one in our midst, serving the public frequently in an official capacity in town and village affairs. The funeral services were held at the house on Sunday, October 6, C.W.
