Eldred was born in the town of Albany on December 29, 1853 and died March 1, 1895, b eing a constant resident of the town with the exception of about 7 years residence in Brodhead, where his parents moved in 1867. He was united in marriage to Miss Fannie Atkinson on May 2, 1885. The deceased was noted for his honesty and uprightness; strictly temperate in all his habits. Although not a member of any religious denomination, the last few years he has lived an exemplary life. Stricken down in the prime of his manhood, he leaves a wife, three brothers and three sisters to mourn their loss. The funeral services were held at the house on Sunday, March 3 at 1:00 pm, conducted by the Rev. J.A. Willey and the remains taken to Brodhead for interment.
