Pleasant, Green Co., Wisc., Dec. 3, 1895, aged 76 years, 7 months and 20 days. Olive Bacon was born in Oswego County, NY, April 13, 1819 where she grew to womanhood remaining with and caring for her invalid mother until her death. Shortly after that event she came with her sister, Mrs. Samuel Saddler to Green Co., Wisc. Here she was married to Harrison Lee who died two years later. On April 11, 1861 she was married to John Lewis, with whom she spent 34 years of her active and useful life, until his death on April 14, 1895. She had no children but was a good mother to his two sons, who mourn their loss. She was one who will be greatly missed by her many friends as she was always a willing helper in times of sickness or distress. The funeral was conducted by Rev. Joseph Mountain on Thursday Dec. 5 and the remains laid at rest by the side of her husband who preceded her.
