Wi Obituaries Reply Here: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/gc/USA/Wi/GreenObits/10501 Surname: Pryce, Maynard ------------------------- Albany, Green County, Wisconsin Vindicator, Thursday, September 5, 1889 Died--At his residence in this village, Monday, August 29, 1889, Mr. John E. Pryce, age 33 years, 7 months and 6 days. John Edwin Pryce was born two miles east of this village on the 19th day of January in 1856. He was always a dutiful and obedient child, and a great favorite among his playmates. He united with the Methodist Church of this place on the 24th day of October, 1874, and has remained a faithful member ever since. He was ever ready to defend the cause of Christ, and to aid the society of which he was a member in every possible way. He was a member of the choir for many years, and for several years was its leader, during which time the singing was excellent and the greatest harmony prevailed. He was particularly fond of music and was never so happy as when singing the songs of Zion. He was married to Miss Nelly May Maynard on August 21, 1878, to whom he has been the most tender, kind and loving husband and she the most faithful and loving companion. For the past six years he has been a great sufferer being attacked with astham, which gradually ran to consumption, which terminated his life on August 21, 1889. Through all his sickness and suffering he was always cheerful and had a pleasant word for everyone. During the last sickness he often expressed his unshaken faith in God, declaring his entire willingness to go, saying many times "Not my will but think, O Lord, be done". At one time he said to me "I desire you to preach my funeral sermon and I want you to tell the people that with me 'all is well'". Then as he remembered that for many weeks his voice was gone, he said: "I shall sing again, with Gracie" (Gracie referring to dear Graie Maynard, who passed away a few months ago).
