Wi Obituaries Reply Here: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/gc/USA/Wi/GreenObits/10485 Surname: Bartlett ------------------------- Albany, Green County, Wisconsin, Vindicator, Thursday, April 23, 1891 Died: April 20, 1891, Willie, youngest soon of George W. and Kate A. Bartlett. He was born November 21, 1879, being only 11 years and 5 months old. Thus a young and hopeful life has suddenly come to an end. Willie was taken ill on Thursday of last week with la grippe, which immediately went to the brain, and did its fatal work in three days. Monday morning at 5:00 Willie's intense suffering was over and the youthful spirit released. This was a shock to everybody for he was well known and no one knew him but to love him. He was an unusually bright boy, possessing rare qualities not often developed in one so young; observing, active, full of life, innocent in his play, thoughtful of others. No son could make a mother feel prouder. Willie was a regular at Sunday school and took great interest in his class. The funeral was held from the Baptist Church Wednesday at 2:00 Rev. R. N. Martin of Evansville, officiating, assisted by Rev. H.A. Rogers. The school children marched in the procession and helped to make the service at the cemetery impressive by marching by the open grave and throwing in their handfuls of flowers. The large concourse of people who attended the funeral was but an indication of the high esteem in which the deceased was held. The afflicted family, while they have Divine compassiion in the lonely hours, can but feel that they also have the sincere sympathy of their many friends.
