I have the 1977 and 1987 indexes to Some Pioneer Families of Wisconsin, put out by the Wisconsin State Genealogical Society. Anyone not familiar with this program, you can submit paperwork on your ancestor to this society and if they approve it they will grant you either a Pioneer Certificate or 100 Year Certificate for your ancestor. I have gone through this process for one of my ancestors and they keep the material on file and every 10 years put out these indexes, I am not sure if they put one out for 1997 or what. It lists the ancestors in one section who have been granted these certificates and in another section it lists the names of the submitters, of course some of these people have died or moved away. In my case, I found that a cousin of my father's, who died and whose son burned all her research, had filed early on. So for about $15 I was able to write to the Society and get copies of her paperwork, which was wonderful. So if anyone wants lookups in these indexes, let me know. Chris Spencer Christine M.
