Wi Biographies Reply Here: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/genbbs.cgi/USA/Wi/GreenBios/103 Surname: McCauliff, Doyle, Mahoney, Lewis, Kelley ------------------------- Just recently made a connection with a collateral line--the Doyles and decided to relist in Green County. Thomas MCCAULIFF settled near Monroe (Adams Township in 1850). His wife was Mary BARRY. The younger 3 of their children were born in Green County: Edward, Thomas and Hannah. The only one from this trio that I have found info on is Hannah who married Thomas MAHONEY in 1876. Hannah and Thomas were living in Lafayette County by 1900 with their 7 children. Two of the boys became priests in the Madison or Milwaukee diocese--I have conflicting references but have not checked either of these sources. The older McCauliff children were William b.1839 (my great grandfather) who married Jane Lewis in Green County July 1 or 4 , 1866. They later homesteaded in NW Iowa in 1871. John MCCAULIFF was 2nd son and he moved to Butler County, IA sometime after marrying Susan BRIGGS and having 4 children. Next child was daughter Catherine whom I believed married a KELLEY but have no knowledge of what happened to her. Then Mary Ann married a DOYLE, unknown first name. They had at least 3 children that I have traced: Magdalen b.1871 who married Joseph CROTTY, Jane b. 1890 who married MCGEE (in Butler County) and Catherine b.1893 who also lived in Butler county in 1900 along with mother Mary Ann and sister Jane. Prior to Butler county residence, I am pretty sure they lived in Shullsberg, Lafayette county. Do not think that any of the Doyle children lived in Green County but there are ties I would like to check if anyone is researching any of these Green County names.
