Hi! I have some old minutes of a Baptist Association called the First Northwestern Association or Regular Baptists, which list a church called Honey Creek, which was evidently located about eight miles north of Monroe near Monticello (I think but am not sure of this). It was organized in about 1845 or 1846, and a minister named John Butler was one of the founding ministers. I have not been able to learn whether this church ever had a meeting house of their own or whether they met in schools or homes, because of being few and poor. The church was closed in 1880. Some of the names of members which I have learned about were John Butler (1817-1886), Ann McCammant Butler (1817-1909), J. Tinkner, Samuel V. Allison (1782-1856), H. C. Miller, William Long (1810-1889), Martha Miner Long, William Stillwell (1839-1924), Jesse Gist (1816-1890), Harriet Gist. If anyone can help me learn more about this church's history and/or its members, I would be glad to hear from you.
