    3. I am researching the following families in Green County. I am looking for information on: Clark [Stephanus (sp?) and Keziah] Bridge [John and Debbie (Clark)] DeCamp [Joel and Matilda (Bridge)] I have had a good deal of success finding information on these people. However, I would really appreciate any information regarding official records such as obituaries, cemetery records, land records, births on these people specifically and on their other extended families generally. I know that the Bridge's and Clark's came to Green County from Ohio in the early 1800s. I believe the 1830s to be more precise. I think that John Bridge came to Green county after his son had already settled there. Then the Bridge's and Clark's, I'm guessing, travelled together. John was born in New Jersey, his daughter Matilda was born in Ohio. I'm not sure where the Clark's were born, I believe also in New Jersey. John Bridge died in Ohio while visiting. His will is still to be found in Monroe, and I do have a copy of that. I know that Debbie (Clark) Bridge died and was buried in Green County. I'd like to know where. Also, her parents (I'm assuming since they were last tracked to Green County) are also likely buried in Green County someplace. I think Joel and Matilda DeCamp came up from Illinois, and later returned to Illinois. I only know that Joel DeCamp was born in Pennsylvania, but I know nothing of his parents or other siblings. The "History of Green County" has been quite helpful in pointing me to different directions, but it would be nice to find official documents and eventually visit the places where these people are buried. Many thanks for any information anyone may have. Sincerely, Rick DCamp >Christine has requested a roll call. Good idea! It has been awhile >since we have had one. 3. I have the 1977 and 1987 indexes to Some Pioneer Families of Wisconsin, put out by the Wisconsin State Genealogical Society. Anyone not familiar with this program, you can submit paperwork on your ancestor to this society and if they approve it they will grant you either a Pioneer Certificate or 100 Year Certificate for your ancestor. I have gone through this process for one of my ancestors and they keep the material on file and every 10 years put out these indexes, I am not sure if they put one out for 1997 or what. It lists the ancestors in one section who have been granted these certificates and in another section it lists the names of the submitters, of course some of these people have died or moved away. In my case, I found that a cousin of my father's, who died and whose son burned all her research, had filed early on. So for about $15 I was able to write to the Society and get copies of her paperwork, which was wonderful. So if anyone wants lookups in these indexes, let me know. Chris Spencer Christine M. 3. I am going to try to keep up with this by replying to people who wrote to me in this one email. 1.) Vern King, I need a snail mail address from you if you want these two copies. 2.) Coleen I have your copy of the marriage ready to mail, will mail it Sat. with the others. I also have some information that might help you to sort out the Jones' and will write to you off list tomorrow. 3.)Mary Matthews, I have your three copies to mail but need a snail mail address. 4.) Dennis Partridge, I have your copy and will mail it out Sat with the others. 5.) Janna, I have your copy and will mail it out Sat. with the others. 6.) Linda Pierce, I checked Hillcrest Cemetery and Union Settlement Cemetery, could not find any Willis or Pierce. I have the coy of the baseball fight and can mail it to you if you give me a snail mail address. I made a copy of the other item also which states: Mr. and Mrs. Frank Pierce of Wonewoc were summoned here Tuesday by the serious illness of their daughter, Mrs. Charles Perkings. 7.) Dave Persons, I have your copy of the Fenton obit but need a snail mail address. 8.) Donna, I have the small article on the Dunwiddie/burns marriage, can you give me your snail mail address, I do not have it any more. Also let me know if you want copies of all these copies for the Green County Historical Society, I did not know if the stuff I sent you last time was usable or what. 9.) M. Rowert re: Hitchcock/Hickock. The one article you asked for was generic in nature, about Dr. Hitchcock building a boat the only one that might help you was a small article stating Dr. Hitchcock's two sisters Marguerite and Marie, from Walworth, were visiting him. 10.) Anne, I am working on your list, mostly completed. And to answer your question, yes John Jones shows up September 20, 1868, aged 86 years in the English Settlement Cemetery--it was kind of an addendum to the original transcription, must have been done later. 11.) Stan, if you could write me off list and let me know what information you DO have on Hills, I know there was some stuff in the last batch of microfilm I got. Also, there is a paragraph about Sylvester Hills reprinted in the Albany 100th anniversary booklet, but it was taken from the Biographical Green County book, so if you have that, you already have what I could give you. 12.) Victor Swartz, I just got your email this morning, please send me your snail mail address and I will get the article for you. I think that is everyone. I will be going to the post office Sat. and mail out what copies I have made to that point in time. Could l request of the list administrator maybe we could do a roll call? I can see from the mail I am getting that there are a number of people out there who are researching the same names, maybe they could get together and exchange information. I myself am researching the surnames Meinert Tilley Francis Griffiths Anyone who is interested in these names, they married into a lot of other Albany and surrounding area families, can go to my web site at http://pubweb.nwu.edu/~osmun Chris Christine M. 3. I went back through this one reel. There is an awful lot in this newspaper. There are a great deal of postings from the outlying areas, Clarno, Attica, Sylvester, etc. These are briefer, but do give some information to anyone interested. Deaths, marriages are mentioned from Brodhead and even Monroe. Deaths and marriages of people who have moved away are reprinted from other papers in other states. Snippets, as I call them, can also give a lot of information--relatives visiting from different places and states, illnesses leading up to eventual obituaries. There is also not so kind news, ie they printed things we never could print today and some of it hurts. I found out, for example, my ancestor's brother seems to have been the town drunk. They editorialize--when someone is arrested it might say "he should have been locked up long ago". I mention this only because in culling out these names, some of them relate to divorce, suicide, arrests, even a murder. It's not all good. I am putting the below information and if you want the full information write me. The deaths mentioned might have a full obit or just two sentences. It there is nothing next to the name, ie "death" or "marriage" it just means there is a "snippet" about this name. 9-1-1901 Trow birth Shultz-Pfifer marriage Burnham James Nicholson death Webster Fleek Hollingsworth Edwards late Sept. 1901 Isaih Zentner death Wheeler Chase marriage Broughton Isaac Williams death Prurrinton Oct. 3, 1901 Reese Adams marriage Ramsey early October, 1901 Lockwood birth jacobsen birth Schllttler death Story death Broderick Broughton birthday Fleek Oct. 10, 1901 Brown Webb marriage Gothompson death Edwards Sally death Fleek October, 1901 Kibbe Manson-Laughead marriage Krause Burt birth Aatherton Oct. 24, 1901 Hills Laughead-Manson marriage Bubb birth Hayes Kaufman Peabocy (Chas) death 10-31-1901 Atherton Conway Gray Pierce Gillette Schoenfeld Muser Meher Bradley Nichols Watkins 11-7-1901 wessel Purrinton birth Blakely Wood Mary Fineran death Whalen/Croak marriage Moran death Richards marriage Buehler death 11-14-1901 Davis/Roderick marriage Stephenson farm for sale Beattie birth Mackie death Sisson birth ostrander birth Bowman death 11-18-1901 Jones birth Dietz birth 11-21-1901 thurman Smith marriage Wilson birth Broughton farm for sale Searles Williams marriage Rafter birthday Philps Lewis death 11-28-1901 Dietz birth 12-5-1901 C.R. 3. I have rejoined the list as I have rented more microfilm from the Albany Vindicator, for the period 1885-Dec31, 1886 and from Oct. of 1901 to Dec. 31, 1909. I have gotten through one reel, which is Oct, 1901 through half of 1904. Last time I did this I attempted to post some of the obits on the Green County Gen Web site, but they also printed out on this list and I guess some people did not like it. I would like to say, however, that since that time I have been contacted by about a dozen people who found an obit for their ancestor on that list, so it was worth it. So, not wanting to be throttled by this list again, I decided to just print a listing of the obits and wedding announcements I found, if anyone is interested they can contact me. I also remember Joan was looking for Dalyrimple, so please contact me if you are interested. 1. WILLIAM CHARLES SANDERS OF WISCONSIN, IOWA, NEW YORK OR PENNYSLVANIA
    2. Looking for my GGgfa William Charles Sanders supposedly born in New York. But this may not be so as no one has been able to find him. My Book 330 years of the Hills in America says he was b. Ny., but that doesn't make it so. The cemetery information that I'm showing below could be him as date of birth and his location fits the our family history and migration and since I'm a Cessna descendant and my Wm. could have went to New York fm Pennsylvania though he didn't marry a Cessna. Wm. C. Sanders/(Saunders as family always claimed) married Louisa Hills about 1830 in Onondaga County, Ny. Louisa Hills is the dau., of Joel Hills and Mary "Polly" Fox. Louisa is descendant of Wm Hills one of the cofounders of Hartford, Connecticut. Our branch is via Elisha Hills and Rebecca Loveland. But to move on, many of my Sanders were born in Ny in and or around the Onondaga County area. They eventually migrated to Michigan for a few years and helped in the building of railroads there. Then they moved on to Green County, Albany Wisconsin area. Joel and Mary "Polly" and others are buried Gap Cemetery just out side of Albany Wisconsin. But this is where my Ggfa Joel Cornealius Sanders married Ruehwama (Rewama) Cessna dau., of Oliver Cessna & Martha Ann Baughman. Oliver and some of the Hills are mentioned in the History of Green County. Oliver & Martha's and Hills and my Ggfa & wife moved on to Iowa. I about forgot there was a J. Baughman in Green Co., also and many of the Baughman's were also in Iowa. My gmo Riddle was Mary Sanders and she was born Hardin Co., Iowa. My GGgmo Louisa Hills is buried in Waterloo, Blackhawk County, Iowa. Now can any of you identify this Wm Sanders as being mine. Cemeteries in Muscatine County Page: 618 Name: Wm.
