I just moved to N4842 Buckskin Road which, I believe is Section 32 of Washington Township and Section 5 of Monroe Township. I would appreciate any photos or history of this area. In particular, we are interested in figuring out the original structure of the home, for restoration purposes. Thanks! Katy Meter __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? In a message dated 12/11/2001 7:03:19 PM Pacific Standard Time, [email protected] writes: ROLL CALL for this venue. My search is for the descendants of Thomas MCCAULIFF and Mary BARRY MC CAULIFF on the WIGREEN list. Family anecdotal info relates that Thomas was a wheelwright. He and Mary immigrated from County Cork to near Syracuse, NY--Onandonga County--in about 1840. My great grandfather (William MCCAULIFF later MCAULIFF) was first born in County Cork. Son John MCCAULIFF was born in NY. Then family moved to near Chicago--probably for building of canal that connected Lake Michigan to Mississippi. Pretty sure he had worked on enhancement of Erie Canal while in NY. Two daughters born in Illinois, Catherine and Mary Ann. Family moved to Green County, Adams Township in 1850. Thomas was listed as landowner in 1860 property owner's list. Children born in WI were Thomas, Edward and Hannah. Hannah married Thomas MAHONEY and lived in Shullsberg, Lafayette County in 1900. My grandfather George MCAULIFF was born near Monroe in 1872, third child of William and Jane LEWIS (marriage in Green County in 1866). William and brother John both served in WI militia in CIVIL WAR. WM had gone to CA so was late in entering army. Have info on WM, JOHN and Mary Ann (married name DOYLE) settling in IOWA--different areas > . Please remember, you can request as many as you want (copies) but it would be extremely helpful to me if you request the dates, and not just send me surnames. So please refer to dates and a or b or c and what copy you want. All copies to date I will mail out Fri or Sat when I go to the post office and then can start fresh again with copy requests. 7-2-1903a Kane Hills 7-2-1903b Holden Allen/Moore marriage Stevens/Garlickom marriage Holmes/Austin marriage Thurman/Nelthorpe marriage 7-9-1903 Deininger death trickle death St. John Scoville Bump Ruf Porter Wells Blood 7-16-1903 St. John death Patchen Rinde 7-23-1903a Parker Baxter Hulburt Crossgrove death Kleinsmith 7-23-1903b Chase death Patton Bagley birthday 7-30-1903a Becker Mickelson Piernot/Gray marriage Oakes death 7-30-1903b Campbell death Comstock Tomkins Stauffacher birth Howard 7-30-1903c Severson death 8-6-1903a Pearce 8-6-1903b Loughead 8-6-1903c Campbell death 8-13-1903 Searles 8-20-1903a Bancroft death Decker Barnum death 8-20-1903b Swann birth Webb death Sutherland death 8-27-1903a Evans Roberts Swett/Talmadge marriage 8-27-1903b Loughead Showers/Wilcox marriage 8-27-1903c Butts death Reunion 13th Wisconsin Infantry 9-3-1903 Licensed to wed: Steinman/Kilgore Wenden/Kupf Roberts Dooley birth Owens death LaValliere Linn death 9-10-1903a Searles Silva Roderick death Bremmer birth Preston birth Elmer birth Groat Watts 9-10-1903b Stephenson Bump deeath Swan Campbell marriage 9-17-1903a Ward death Carver Noonan 9-17-1903b Ziney death Trow death Evans death Santus/Eldred marriage Crossgrove/Smith marriage 9-24-1903a Bowen Reuhlow 9-24-1903b Strawser death Watts 9-24-1903c Weaver death Jacobson Gillett birth Hein birth Schmidt birth 9-24-1903d Laughead/Crossgrove wedding 10-1-1903a Anderson/Alsop marriage Ward death Livingston Comstock 10-1-1903b Sanders/Johnson marriage Reckor or Reckord Kundert death 10-8-1903a Wilson 10-8-1903b Bennet Haney Winter death 10-8-1903c Mitcheltree Willoughby Lufren death Chryst death Berkhalter birth Truax birth Zimmerman birth Smout birth Martin/Grady marriage Fleek death 10-15-1903a Carver birth Kingdon 10-15-1903b Bagley death Kline death Martin farm for sale 10-22-1903a Licensed to wed: Rease/Nix Stauffacher death Chryst hamer Best Warren Hyatt/Hooker marriage 10-22-1903b Fitzgerald/Tierney marriage Malkow/Smiley marriage Bagley death Dowd 10-29-1903a Lahr Hoxie death Hewitt Mahar Hulburt 10-29-1903b Crossgrove 10-29-1903c Jones death Turner Young 11-5-1903a Dixon Tilley birth Sylvester 11-5-1903b Loughead Struck Edwards 11-5-1903c Davis death 11-12-1903a Miller birth Chenowith death Ten Eyck death Malkow 11-12-1903b Roberts death Licensed to wed: Broughton/Roderick and Bacon/Walters Winters Popanz/Malkow marriage 11-19-1903a Schmid death Trickle death Lewis Gilligan death 11-19-1903b Roberts death (2) Davenport death 11-26-1903a Henry golden wedding Monroe death Roberts Dunwiddie death 11-26-1903b Edwin death Annis death Hilliard death Belveal 12-3-1903a Butcher/Ryan marriage Atkinson Wagner/Schneider marriage 12-3-1903b Anis death Hilliard death 12-3-1903c Edmonds Livingston/Stevens death 12-10-1903a Hoesly death 12-10-1903b Troy death 12-17-1903a Reese Legler death 12-17-1903b Davis Atherton Gilbertson farm for sale Hughes birth 12-24-1903a Fleek Livingston Sherbondy moore Durst death 12-24-1903b Wessel death 12-31-1903a Stanton/Krueger marriage Pryce 12-31-1903b Young death Reese death Purinton death Will start 1904 either tomorrow or Monday, will be away Fri. Hi Lori and Listers, In response to the roll call request: Grandparents: Jacob Frederick KUBLY (b 17 Dec 1884, Jordan, Green, WI; d 27 Feb 1965, Monroe, Green, WI) & Mary Isabel HOGAN (b 13 Sep 1889, Monroe, Green, WI; d 01 Nov 1960, Monroe, Green WI). They were wed 12 Sep 1906, Freeport, Stephenson, IL. Mary Isabel HOGAN was raised by Ella HOGAN, as sister of Amos HOGAN, my great grandfather. Ella married a Mr. ELLIS. Great Grandparents: Jakob KUBLI (b 23 Feb 1847, Matt, Glarus, Swit; d 17 Oct 1904, Green Co, WI) & Elizabeth HEFTI (b 1849, Haetzingen, Glarus, Swit; d 10 Jan 1929). They were wed on 24 Mar 1870 at Monroe, Green, WI. Amos H. HOGAN (b 26 Sep 1861, Monroe, Green, WI; d 05/06 Apr 1926, Rockford, Winnebago, IL) & Mary Isabel McCULLY (b 11 Jun 1869, Monroe, Green, WI; d 03 Nov 1937, Chicago, Cook, IL). Mary was wed to Amos on 02 Jul 1887 at Monroe, Green, WI. Great Great Grandparents: John Peter KUBLI & Barbara MARTI (b Swit) Fridolin & Margaretha HEFTI (b Swit) George McCULLEY & Nancy WILLIAMS (d/o John WILLIAMS; George supposedly from NY, & Nancy from Meadville, PA, but I haven't pursued these lines much yet. Jess B. HOGAN & Maria BLACK I have many relatives buried in Greenwood Cemetery in Monroe. My father, James LaRoy KUBLY, was born in Monroe, and my mother, Emma Alvina GOEPFERT, nee NYBORG, was born nearby at Argyle, Lafayette Co., WI. She was first married to Alfonso GOEPFERT, whose parents, Karl and Marie, lived in Monroe for many years. Mom's parents were from Norway, and I have that line back a few generations. Also have the KUBLY/KUBLI line records from canton Glarus records back many generations. Most of my time is devoted to posting biographies from old biographical and county histories (currently finishing 1892 & 1905 bios for Winnebago and Boone Cos., IL - lots of WI folks in them, but mostly connected to Rock & Dane Cos). I continue to post bios in several states, paying special attention to folks who later removed to WI, or had a descendant who did. Should be lots of Green Co folks in the Stephenson County bios, which are on the "To Do" pile (doing the northern tier of IL counties). Lots of good research clues in those old bios, as Lori knows! Warm Regards, Cathy
I am looking for information on William John OLIVER b. 1 Jul 1875 in Wisconsin; d. 17 Mar 1945 in Los Angeles, CA. He was married to Mary Grace DOLAN, b. 22 Nov 1879; d. 2 Jan 1961 in Los Angeles, CA. They had at least 2 sons: Richard O. and William James. They are in the 1920 Census in Green Co., WI. They are in California by 1931. I would appreciate any help anyone can give. Thanks, Von Curry email: [email protected]
Good evening, I am looking for someone who could possibly help me locate some data from Green County. I am more than willing to pay for the help. I am looking for information on my ancestors the Chase/Baker family. John Benjamin Chase was born in Erie County PA.. He died April 16, 1900 in Albany, Green, WI. * I would like to locate his obit or death record.* They must have lived close to the Rock County area as they lived and married in Rock County, WI. and relocated to Green County, WI. He married Martha A. Baker on November 11, 1852 in Union, Rock, WI. She died July 10, 1903 in Evansville, Rock, Wisconsin. *I would like to locate her obit / death record. I would greatly love to have the marriage record and application for marriage as I am trying to join the DAR through my Chase / Baker line. The Wisconsin Historical Library Pre 1907 Marriages, Rock County, Vol. 1, pg. 6. On the application for marriage he is listed as a farmer and resides in Albany, WI.. Parents for both were listed, and there were no witnesses listed. But I was never able to obtain a copy of this nor have I been able to get a copy of the page from the 1860 Green County Wisconsin census which lists him with wife and three children. I would like to obtain those copies as well. I highly suspect that John Chase was the son of Phila (White) & Ambrose Chase. If I can get a copy of their marriage and the application or the copy from the Pre 1907 marriages listing the parents along with their obits, then I can pay my Chase line the high honors of being able to join the DAR through their strong military history. Please, if anyone is willing to assist me, let me know. I am more than happy to pay for any help. Thank you, Addie

While I was adding the [WIGREEN] to the reply, I also changed the reply so that it goes to the list instead of just the person who wrote the message. In the past I think some people thought they were sending their messages to the list, but the message only came back to me. If enough people do not like this, just let me know and I will change it back. Christine, Thank you for all of the work you have been doing for the Albany area!!!
