Barnhouse is rather unusual name. In collateral line, I have an Arena Barnhouse birthplace unknown, date 1842. She married Gilbert Hazlett unknown place. They lived in Butler County, IA. I have several relatives who moved from Green County to Butler County sometime after 1872. Their names were McCauliff/McAuliff, Doyle and Briggs--all originating in Green County. There is also a Steven Strong in Honolulu researching the Barnhouse name. And someone in Butler County who has info on the Hazlett and Barnhouse lines. Some time next week I should be getting the 1850, 1860 and 1870 federal censuses for Green County. I am trying to find some of my subsidiary lines. New to the List: Looking for Gustav Reinhardt born in 1831 in Saxonia, Germany and died 4-17-1917 in Lake City Minnesota. He first married Augusta Kornemann Creuzer in Wisconsin,then married Katherine Lamm, who was born in Switzerland. Katherine was first married to Adam Lamm. Augusta was first married to Ferdinand Creuzer in Germany. Both Ferdinand and Augusta were in Jordon,Green County Wisconsin in 1860, with children Othilia, Charles,Whilliminia, Julius. Green County Genealogical Society meets Feb 2. Linda Schiesser will give a presentation "Preparation for Visiting An Archives/Library/Other Sites" when the Green County Genealogical Society meets Feb 2 at 10 AM in the community room of the Monroe Public Library 925 16th Ave, Monroe. The presentation will cover what can be done at home to prepare for a visit and what procedures to use when visiting the site to make a field trip successful. The Wisconsin History Society and their resources will also be discussed. The Green County Genealogical Society meets the first Saturday of the month and invites anyone interested in genealogy to join in. A business meeting will precede the program and a board meeting will follow the program and refreshments.
