Phyllis, Interesting question. I can't locate the 1875 marriage of A.J. to Victoria in Grant Co., or anywhere else in the state using the Ancestry.com state marriage index. This marriage is listed in the Grant Co. Herald newspaper book by Cheryl Lemanski as taking place in Wyalusing. She listed a Bk and Pg number for the Grant Co. marriage records, but it's actually that for his marriage to Elsa. No parents were listed on the marriage record for A.J. and Elsa. This must be them in the 1880 Crawford Co. Census with Victoria's children from a previous marriage: 1880 Census, Prairie Du Chien, Crawford, Wisconsin Source: FHL Film 1255421 National Archives Film T9-1421 Page 117C Relation Sex Marr Race Age Birthplace Andrew KENYON Self M M W 52 NY Occ: Stage Driver Fa: NY Mo: NY Victoria KENYON Wife F M W 35 PA Occ: Keeping House Fa: PA Mo: PA William RAINIER SSon M S W 13 IA Occ: At School Fa: PA Mo: PA Daisy RAINIER SDau F S W 12 IL Occ: At School Fa: PA Mo: PA John RAINIER SSon M S W 10 IL Occ: At School Fa: PA Mo: PA Per the Crawford Co. marriage records, Andrew/A.J. was married at some point to a Rhoda Unknown. Three of his children by Rhoda were married in Crawford Co. in 1869 & 1871. But I don't find him in the 1870 Census index for Grant or Crawford Co. Must have been hiding somewhere. Dave Taft
Hi David, Thank you so much for taking the time to look. I think I got some of my info from the Lemanski book when I was in PdC & Bloomington a few years ago. I have not come across the info on a Rhonda. I would certainly appreciate seeing what you have. I do have all the 1880 family in PdC & Bloomington and Millville. This family is a real challenge. I suspect A.J. is a brother of James in Bloomington and John in Millville, Clayton, Iowa. I find a reference that John was in Fairplay before going to Millville. Do you know anything about Fairplay, Jamestown, WI? James has one son, Caleb who stays in Bloomington and his daughter marries a KOECKE, the other son settles in Hanibal,Missouri. They have scattered all up and down the Mississippi, on both sides. I also have a note that Elsey Jane Kinyon wife of J. Kinyon d. Sep. 11, 1872 age 26 yrs 9 mo. and 5 days. There is a tombstone in the Bridgeport Cemetery. I suspect husband was A.J. Kinyon. That is why I have been trying to find something that would give a parent, etc. Your expertise is much appreciated!! Phyllis At 09:19 AM 2/24/02 -0600, you wrote: >Phyllis, > >Interesting question.
