Surnames: Schreiber/Schrieber/Garbisch/ Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/lEC.2ACE/1077 Message Board Post: My g grandma Johanna Dorothea Schreiber came from Prussia or German Poland about 1859......with her parents said to be Johanna & elizabeth Schreiber, settling in Milwaukee Johanna D met & married a Johann Garbisch & they then moved to clark co wi, grant, & raised 14 children Johanns dad was George Garbisch & his mom Marie E. Riedel Garbisch I have little info on Johannas parents, mentioned in her OBIT as having settled in Milwaukee - I tried finding more info on them in the Milwaukee area but so far, nothing I noticed that there were other schriebers up in the Granton area & wonder ARE THESE SCHRIEBERS RELATED TO MY LINE OF SCHREIBERS - & if so, do you have more information on Johanna Dorotheas parents who settled in Milwaukee? Or info on perhaps some of Johannas siblings? OR perhaps which boat she came in on with her parents? At my grand dads funeral (richard john garbisch) Held in Granton in 1952 and he is buried in Windfall cemetery........his funeral book is signed by TWO SCHREIBERS, an Oscar and a Fred I have to wonder, were they relatives to Richard John, since his mother was Johanna Dorothea Schreiber Garbisch - I just have to ask because perhaps someone out there can tie my Schreibers in to theirs & share some new info with me about this line PHOTOS - I have no photos either of my Schreibers so anyone with photos, this would just make my day - thanks for listening & hope to hear from someone sue
