I am looking to find out what city is the county seat for Grant County. We have always just taken for granted that GGGrandfather Julius brought is family to U.S. in 1850. But reading it over carefully, it says that they finally settled in Liberty Township and then Stitzer. I am hoping to find out when and if he or any of the family because naturalized citizens. I am ASSUMING that the children did, or at least Charles and Henry (my GGGrandfather) may have been naturalized after the Civil War. Any help I can get will be gratefully accepted.
