Hello.....Im writing again to send you info I received on a DVORAK family not related to mine. I thought I'd send this along to the list so if anyone can jog their memory, maybe we can come up with matches for this family. Thanks for anybody who can help out here....again this is not my family.. Just helping out a friend My great, great grandmother's name was Rose/Rosa Dvorak. She was born July 30, 1842 in Bohemia. She married a John Faytle (Fajtl) who was from Veselie, Bohemia, so I'm wondering if her family wasn't from that area too. Rosa had 4 brothers & sisters (that I know of, but this cousin of mine who supplied a lot of the information I have thinks there were more siblings that didn't come to the United States). Anyway, their names & dates are: Mary Dvorak born December 08, 1841; John Dvorak born Abt. May 1845; Anna born December 22, 1849 & Wenzel born May 25, 1852. To be honest with you, until a few weeks ago I didn't realize my Rosa had a brother named Wenzel. This cousin of mine sent the obituary for Wenzel (1906) & it listed my great grandmother as being one of Wenzel's sisters. I KNOW it is my great grandmother because the name Faytle is NOT common at all & it says she lived in Wahpeton, ND (where they lived in 1906). This obituary is what this cousin used to track down my side of the family. This cousin sent information on Wenzel: he married Mary Zajicck June 20, 1875. Together they had 6 daughters: Emma 3-27-1876; Mary 1878; Della 1880; Jessie 4-4-1883; Mary 2-16-1886 & Anna Helen 1-14-1890. Yes, there are 2 Mary's listed... they are NOT the same person. the first Mary died in 1881, so they named another child Mary. Okay, now for Wenzel & his sibling's parents: Jan (John) Dvorak Pavlovsky (5-16-1810) married Anna Peterka (5-5-1811) on February 7, 1832. Jan was from Ripec 31 (which my cousin says is a township & a house number) and Anna was from Borkovice 29. Jan's parents were: Simon Pavlovsky Dvorak (10-14-1782 from Ripec 31) & Ludmila Straka (2-27-1779 Ripec 11). They were married May 10, 1802. Anna Peterka's parents were: Tomas Peterka (10-17-1772 Borkovice 29) & Marie Anna Kolay (from Soin). Marie Anna Kolay's dad's name was Martin Kolay. Her dad's name was unknown. Tomas Peterka's parents were: Martin Peterka & Eva Hruska (12-14-1743 from Borkovice). Ludmila Straka's parents were: Matous Straka Novak & Marie Anna Straka (1-29-1740 from Ripec). Simon Pavlovsky's parents were: Josef Pavlovsky (5-18-1744 from Borkovrce) & Ludmila Straka (not the same one as Jan's mother. No birth date listed, but death date was 11-15-1805 Ripcc 31). They were married 2-9-1768. As far as my Dvorak family, they lived in Wahpeton, ND. As far as I can tell, they came to America sometime around 1882. It sounds as if Wenzel came in 1870 to Lancaster, WI. The obituary says he lived in Lancaster for 5 years, then moved to Muscoda & lived there until his death in 1906. That is all the information I have at the present time. Does anything sound familar to you? End of Message from Cammie Jordan THANKS
