Wimer, 88, of Dubuque, died Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2006, at Mercy Medical Center-Dubuque. Services will be at noon Saturday at Martin Funeral Home, Lancaster, Wis., with the Rev. Barbara Cook officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Lancaster, with military honors. Friends may call after 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Mr. Wimer was employed with the Beloit Corporation for many years, retiring in 1980. He was born on March 22, 1918, in Beetown, Wis., son of Archie and Mabel (Hillary) Wimer. He married Dorothy Graham on Dec. 10, 1947, in Lancaster. Four children were born to this union. Dale and his family farmed in Lancaster before moving to Cassville. The family then resided in Platteville, Wis., Beloit, Wis., and finally Dubuque. He graduated from Cassville (Wis.) High School. Upon graduation, Dale enlisted in the Army and served in the Pacific during World War II. Dale enjoyed animals, especially his pet dogs. He liked to read westerns and play euchre. Surviving are his wife, Dorothy Wimer, of Dubuque; his children, Deloris (James) Robertson, of West Chester, Pa., Daleene (Nick) Nakonechny, of Neenah, Wis., Archie (Sharon) Wimer, of Dodgeville, Wis., and Andy (Anne) Wimer, of Dubuque; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and his niece and nephews, Joan Bartz and Fritz Marshall, both of Beetown, and Bruce Marshall, of Arizona. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Iva Marshall and Doris Wimer. [Note: This is not my family, and I have no further information.]
