Aline, You can still access the california birth index - just NOT thru rootsweb anymore ! Try: www.vitalsearch-ca.com/gen/ca/_vitals/cabiygen.htm (there's an underscore right before vitals/cabiygen). There use to be a birth index but they took it off of the internet.
