Hello ! Anyone out there have any information on the Eastmans of Montfort, WI ? Specifically, I'm looking for my great-grandmother, Violet Eastman. I know she was born October 18, 1893 (or 1894 - she never revealed to ANYONE her real age !) in Wisconsin. I found on the Eastman Genealogy page that a Violet Eastman was born in Wisconsin to a Gurley De Witt Eastman born in Montfort, WI in April of 1867 and Lillie Moore. HOWEVER, it did not list her birthday, so I can't be sure she's "my" Violet. I'm also just guessing (and hoping !) that Gurley stayed in Montfort or at least Grant County. Would anyone have access to birth records for the 1890's in Grant County ? I don't mind paying for copies, and I don't even mind paying someone to look up records - I'd just like to know first that I'm at least heading in the right direction.......... Deanna, I checked the 1900 Census for Wingville and Montfort Town and came up blank. >From Ancestry.Com, it would appear that the Gurley Eastman you mention was living in Compton, Los Angeles Co., CA in 1920. Was Violet in California?? Dave Taft
